I’ve been in the rental business off and on since 1970. Starting in 1979, I opened a Century 21 franchise which I sold in 2001. Including the Century 21 franchise, the rental business has been my full-time job. During that time I have worked for over 50 landlords and hosted more residents than I could count. I’ve been at my current location for 20+  years. I’ve been doing this successfully for a long time and have a proven track record in the business. Wood Rentals handles a nice, small inventory of rental units to accomodate singles, couples, families, students and non-students, professionals and the blue-collar. Wood Rentals does not discriminate against any applicant(s), but you must have good references. Below is some general information to get you started, but we really want you to call 217 345-4489. It's much easier for you to get meaningful answers and gain insight from a personal conversation than by text or email. Business hours are 8:30-12:00 and 1:00-5:00. You can speak with Rachel or Jim. As of 8/31/2023, I have sold almost all of my personal inventory of apartment buildings and houses. The new owner of those properties is HORT PROPERTIES 217 798-9100. I continue to manage a smaller inventory of properties for other landlords.

Wood Rentals doesn't lease BIG houses for 4-8 people.

We specialize in the 1 or 2 person dwelling for those interested in a quiet lifestyle. We prefer comfort for our residents instead of packing people in to get more rent. 


Showings are by appointment, 10:00-4:00, Monday thru Friday. Call at least 1 day ahead so arrangements can be made with the current resident for the showing. If you just show up, we cannot guarantee that we can gain access for a showing. Call 217 345-4489 for an appointment.
